Favorite songs?

So, what are your favorite songs on the show?

I've read in many boards that people hate the "Hit List" plot, but I must say I'm obsessed with most of the songs with only a few exceptions and therefore enjoy "Hit List" in all its overly dramatic glory. I think adding a male vocalist with Jeremy Jordan was a brilliant move and something that was missing in season one. Loved "Heard Your Voice in a Dream", "Broadway Here I Come", "Heartshaped Wreckage" and "The Last Goodbye". Ana's "Reach for me" was also pretty damn catchy. I kinda wish though Jeremy Jordan was singing everything. Really prefered his version of "Caught in the storm" - too bad we only got an official release of Kat McPhee's version. My least favorite out of the "Hit List" songs were probably "Good for you" and "Original" - at least so far - I guess I just don't like it when Smash goes too much into the direction of mainstream pop songs.

As for "Bombshell", "Let Me Be Your Star" remains the one to beat - though I still like most of the other songs. "They Just Keep Moving The Line" and "Second Hand White Baby Grand" are probably in my Top 5 of the Bombshell songs. God bless Megan Hilty. The "20th Century Fox Mambo", "Smash", "History is made at Night", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"  and "Don't Forget Me" follow closely.

As for cover songs, I absolutely love the versions of "Dancing on my own" and "Bittersweet Symphony" that Megan Hilty sang. Jimmy's "High & Dry" was also pretty good. I mostly like Megan Hilty's cover songs better than the ones that Kat McPhee has - I think Megan gets the better song choices, though I liked Kat's "Run"-version. Also, Kyle's version of Jeff Buckley's "The Last Goodbye" needs some getting used to, I thought it was horrible when I first heard it, but now I kind of like it.

It's a shame Megan Hilty and Jeremy Jordan never did sing together on the show.

The footage for REACH FOR ME was crazy good, but would they actually do something THIS complicated in an actual Broadway show? With her being over the audience, I could feel the lawsuits if something went wrong and she fell down on audience members, killing them. lol

The Goodbye Song is so typically SPRING AWAKENING-y. Absolutely loved it.

I'm curious...which version of Don't Forget Me do you prefer? The Hilty version or the McPhee one. I like both, but I'm happy Hilty's version is commercially available now.

I'd probably like Vienna more if I liked Christian Borle's character more.
